24. Internationales Seminar: Moshi (TZA)

So 15. Jul – Sa 21. Jul 2012

24. International Seminar: Moshi (TZA)

Sun 15 Jul – Sat 21 Jul 2012
Theme: Caring for Creation - Caring for People. Climate Changes and Natural Disasters as Challenges for Spiritual Care, Theology and Socio-Political Development

The 24th International Seminar for Intercultural Pastoral Care and Counselling took place in Moshi, Tanzania – on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro – in the Uhuru Hotel and Conference Centre from 15 to 21 July. The 100 participants were moved by the open and good encounters with each other, appreciated the well-organized schedule and liked the many inspiring contributions to the theme “Caring for Creation – Caring for People”. The outcomes of the Seminar were:

  • The results of climate change have to be brought to more awareness and have to be considered in care and counselling more
  • It is an ethical issue, that each person is called to contribute with his or her capabilities to slow down global warming
  • A regular cooperation between care-givers in East Africa and SIPCC was proposed and decided

A documentation in English (with most of the articles translated into German), some of the presentations, as well as a picture gallery give more insight into the Seminar.
